JUNE REUNION ON FAST TRACK!!!

Reunion committee meets: We had a very productive reunion committee meeting at Janet Minish Kloepfer's home on February 24th, 2011. We are getting down to the nitty gritty with the reunion planning! June will be here before we know it!!!! We need everyone out there to help us make this the most memorable reunion in school history!!! WE CAN DO THIS!!! Dana Clark is collecting memories from senior year to incorporate in a Magazine article he is composing. PLEASE everyone send Dana any memories you have...from the mundane to the elaborate....all are most welcome and appreciated!!!! Please send these to Dana as a FB message or to his personal email address...jclark18@bellsouth.net. Send these submissions in by March 10....PLEASE! Also, anyone who has not already done so, please RSVP by clicking on the school building on this site and you will be taken to a form to fill out. Everyone's help is MUCH needed and MUCH appreciated!!!

'Athens Magazine' Article

I need everyones particpation! "Athens Magazine" will be publishing an article about our class and our Reunion.
The class of 1971 was the first to graduate from the newly formed Clarke Central High School.

· This was the first fully integrated class

· An article is being prepared for Athens Magazine about this first class

· The article will largely consist of impressions of class members

· Please consider doing two things:

1. Your Impressions - Write a short, three to four sentence “impression” of what you remember, learned, from that 1971 year at Clarke Central

2. Pictures – Please upload any pictures that you have from that year for possible inclusion in the article

· Dana Clark is gathering all the information. Please email impressions/pictures (in JPG form) to: jclark18@bellsouth.net

· “Impressions” may have to be edited slightly for length before inclusion

· Only ten to fifteen impressions can be used. The editors will make the inclusion decisions along with input from the reunion committee

· Let’s make this a SPECIAL article about our class

· Everything needs to be submitted by March 10th, 2011!

Update: Cheryl is busy compiling and verifying addresses for a "missing list" so the Committee can begin locating these Classmates. Janet placed an announcement in the Athens Banner Herald this past Sunday about the upcoming Reunion. We are at work and will keep you posted.

Kathy Black Henson: The first planning meeting was held for the 40th reunion and Amy Clark of the Athens Convention and Visitors Bureau and Dana Clark spoke to us about "Event Planning." Those present were: Kathy Black Henson, Kathy Owens Phillips, Pat Johnson Penny, Cystal Owensby Eaton, Janet Minish Kloepfer, and Dana Clark. It was an ...information gathering and organizing session held at the YMCA in Athens. Cheryl Lester Wooliscroft has completed verification of over 200 addresses and telephone numbers to date and compiled a list of "missing names" I will be sending this out to the Committee to begin work locating. WE are on OUR way to making this the BEST reunion ever!!!
